On April 11, 2026, CCPRF was honored to partner with the Tsinghua Alumni Association in presenting The Words of Love Choral Concert — a moving celebration of music, culture, and community at Good Shepherd Community Church.
Nearly 200 guests gathered for this special event, which also commemorated the 115th anniversary of Tsinghua University.
A Musical Journey
Performed by the Toronto Tsinghua Alumni Arts Troupe, the concert took audiences on a musical journey spanning classical Chinese poetry, folk songs, sacred music, and Western choral masterpieces, showcasing the beauty of cultural communication.
The concert opened with the solemn and ceremonial Tsinghua University anthem. Ms. Cai Hongmei, the troupe's director and artistic director, led the audience into a rich and well-paced choral experience with a concise yet captivating artistic introduction.
Program Highlights
- 🎵 "The Song of the Yue People" — melodious and lingering classical Chinese poetry
- 🎵 "Flowers and Youth" — lively and spirited Qinghai folk song
- 🎵 "You Are Mine" — pure and devout English hymn
- 🎵 "Wild Rose" by Schubert — delicate and affectionate
- 🎵 "The Anvil Chorus" — majestic and powerful operatic classic
The fusion of Chinese and Western musical styles showcased the troupe's profound musical literacy and expressive power.
More Than a Concert
This event was more than just a concert; it was a bridge connecting different communities, bringing together music lovers, cultural leaders, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. CCPRF was honored to welcome its members and their families to this inspiring artistic feast and to strengthen community bonds through music — a universal language.
As the last note of "Song of Youth" faded into applause, a clear message emerged: music has the power to preserve memories, foster understanding, and unite people in love and harmony.
